Field Trip for Beginners

• Field Trip: Easy walk along part of Cumberland Valley Rail Trail in Chambersburg, with extra help for beginning birders.
• Bring binoculars and field guide.
• Location: Meet at county parking lot off Hood Street north of the Ice Cream Station.
• Bring binoculars and water.

Beginning Birders’ Workshop

• Outreach:  Fun day for beginning birders.  Easy walks with seasoned birders, fun activities for children. All families, adults, teens, and children age 6 or older (accompanied by parent/guardian) are welcome.  Activities include; Bird Walks, Kid’s Corner, Nature Walk, Birding Bingo, Scavenger Hunt, and refreshments. “Birding Buddies” will help participants identify birds.
• Bring binoculars and a field guide if you have them. A few loaners will be available.
• Meet at Visitors Center in Caledonia State Park, Fayetteville.  Park in first parking lot beyond Visitors Center.

PA Breeding Bird Blitz for Conservation

• Conservation Count and fundraiser organized by Pennsylvania Society for Ornithology (PSO)
• All day for one or more of the 11 days, Join a team for fundraising opportunities, and/or sponsor one or more teams.
• PSO will select the organizations that will benefit.

Edenville Area for WHIP-POOR WILLS and BOBOLINKS

• Field Trip: 5:00 PM Edenville/Portico Road area for WHIP-POOR-WILLS and BOBOLINKS. Note: This is an evening trip! Whip-poor Wills start calling at or after dusk, so be prepared for a late evening.
• Leave from Weis Markets parking lot, 49 Warm Spring Road, Chambersburg.
• Bring scopes and binoculars.
• Destination: Edenville/Portico Road area (Bobolinks) and farther west (Whip-poor Wills).
