- An osprey soars over a small saltmarsh at the delta of the Connecticut River. From somewhere along the east coast of South America, he has just flown 4,000 miles to the place that is imprinted on his memory since birth, the saltmarsh where he will rejoin his mate.

- Drive to Heisey Road orchard.
- Witness the annual mating flight of these woodland birds with Bob Keener.
- Bring flashlight.
- Be prepared for tall, wet grass.
- Meeting place: Park & Ride, Scotland, Exit 20, I-81 northbound. Meet at the Park & Ride at 6:45 PM, or go directly to Heisey Road orchard on your own and be there by 6:55 PM.
